CHAKWAL: A marriage celebration converted into a tragedy when the groom and his uncle came under attack for 'honour' in the Bhagtal village according to Tamman police. In this incident mother of the groom got some injuries.
According to officials, 6 years ago the girl of Mal Khan been infected with a love marriage with Mohammad Irfan. Mr Khan and his sons did not take any action anticipated to their poverty but a year later the niece of Irfan also contracted love marriage with Munir Hussain, the other elder son of Mr Khan.
Her brother Ghulam Akbar filed an instance with the police, accusing Munir Hussain of kidnapping his sister. But in the court, his sister explained that she had wedded of her own free will. As an end result, the case was terminated.
On Saturday, marriage of Amjad Hussain took place, During the night time, Ghulam Akbar along with his two nephews - Nisar and Irfan - apparently stormed the house of Amjad and Munir. At that moment Amjad and his uncle Maqbool Elahi arrived. Soon the assailants opened fire on them, killing them at the spot while the mother of Amjad was injured.
"We are possibly trying to put the grab on killers, " said investigation officer Mansoor Mazhar.
