CHAKWAL: Senator Lt Gen R Abdul Qayyum Chairman senate standing Committee on defense production called on Chief Minister Punjab today and discussed various national political and governance issues.
Senator Qayyum also requested the CM to help in reviving Mandra -Chakwal-Bhoun Railway line ,establishment of a state of the art university and well equipped/staffed latest hospital in Chakwal .CM was kind to promise that action on these issues will be expedited.it was also brought to the notice of the CM that the cement factories in Chakwal were not only polluting the natural environments but were also damaging road infrastructure.
CM promised that not only existing factories will be asked to finance the extension of railway link from Bhoun to CHOA Syedin shah but a feasibility study will also be carried out to link Mandra -Bhoun railway line with Khushab by a tunnel through Salt Range .Khawaja Saad Rafiq Minister for railway has already promised to get a feasibility study ready for the subject project .
