Two Soldiers Martyred In South Waziristan During Anti-Terror Operation

ISLAMABAD: Two Army personnel were martyred on Saturday in an intelligence-based operation carried out in the Ladha area of South Waziristan, said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).


During the operation, six terrorists were killed after a heavy exchange of fire. A high-value target, Nanakar, was among those killed and was responsible for attacks on the local population and tribal Maliks.

The Army’s media wing stated that information was received regarding the presence of terrorists who entered the area under the guise of Temporary Displaced Persons (TDP) and Havaldar Razzaq Khan and Havaldar Mumtaz Hussain were martyred in the ensuing operation carried out in the village of Spina Mela.
The Army further said a cache of weapons and communication sets, used for communication with terrorist handlers in Afghanistan’s Paktia province, were also recovered.
On June 15, three soldiers were martyred in attacks in Shawwal, North Waziristan, while five terrorists killed in an exchange of fire.
