Katas Raj Temple’s Pond Drying Up: CJP Takes Notice

CHAKWAL: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday tOOK suo moto notice of the news survey about the Katas Raj Temple's fish pond drying up quickly credited to area's subsoil water being use by commercial plants / factories.

The CJP also looked for a detailed statement from the Islamabad archaeology and museum director general, Evacuee Trust Property Board secretary, Lahore Archeology Department director general and Chakwal Deputy Commissioner within 3 days. Based on the news article, the pre-historic fabled fish-pond is drying out up because of extreme consumption of normal water by concrete factories. The factories are apparently sucking drinking water through more than 100 drill bores, that have seriously reduced the subsoil normal water level. Moreover, due to lack of proper water resource for the neighborhood regions of Katas Waulah and Choa Saidanshah, nearly every home is sucking normal water by boring.
