RAWALPINDI, An oil tanker carrying 60,000 liters oil Thursday skidded on Chakwal Road near Mandra apparently due to morning heavy rain.
A contingent of local police, and rescuers of 1122 rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area. The DSP Mohsin Junaid, who was supervised the operation, told media that oil tanker was going to Chakwal when it veered on the roadside.
Traffic police diverted traffic on alternate route. He said oil was shifted to another tanker and slight leakage occurred after the incident but the situation was under control.
