Windstorm, Lightening And Rain Strongly Hits Chakwal As Well

CHAKWAL: Windstorm, lightening and rains have hit Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and other areas, suspending the power supply.

Several vehicles and installments bore damages while trees uprooted as strong gusts hit the twin cities after dense clouds enveloped the cities at around 04:30pm.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) recorded gusts blowing at 93 kilometres (km) per hour and in Rawalpindi at 130 km/hr. Rain followed the windstorm with Met forecasting the spell to continue in the coming 24 hours.

Power supply was affected in IESCO region as broken hoardings and road signs interfered with the power cables causing a blackout inChakwal, Attock, Jehlum, Sialkot besides the twin cities.
