IHC Waiting For Gas Supply To Chakwal Village

CHAKWAL: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday sought reply from the Ministry of Petroleum Products and Natural Resources regarding provision of gas supply to a village in Chakwal district. Justice Athar Minallah of the IHC heard the petition filed by a citizen Chaudhry Ahmed Nawaz seeking directives for supply of his village Langah which was three kilometres away from a gas field.

The petitioner stated in his plea that there were reservoirs of natural resources in the region but it was deprived of gas supply.
His village having total population of 10,000 lacked basic facilities including gas, roads, schools, hospital, drinking water and sewerage system and other infrastructure, he added.

The petitioner cited the Secretary Petroleum Products and Natural Resources, OGDCL, SNGPL and Pakistan Petroleum Limited etc as respondents in the case. After hearing the arguments, the court sought reply from respondents and adjourned the case for indefinite time.
