ISLAMABAD: The former prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif is brainstorm with his colleagues before chairing the parliamentary party meeting of the party.
PML -N chief Nawaz Sharif who was disqualified a day earlier by the five-member bench of the supreme court of Pakistan is still in prime Minister House where he is deliberating with his close confidantes to pick the next man for the slot of the premier.
After the informal consultative meeting with Ayyaz Sadiq, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Shahbaz Sharif, Pervaiz Rasheed, Asif Kirmain and Shahid Khaqan Abasi, another parliamentary meeting of ruling party would take place to jointly green light the next man for the top slot.
Earlier, media reports suggested that Nawaz Sharif has recommended his younger brother, currently the chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to fill his shoe, however, the decision is not yet final.
In case Shahbaz Sharif is to become the next premier of Pakistan, the ruling PML-N would elect an interim premier so that Shahbaz Sharif can leave his provincial seat and contest bye-elections for the National Assembly.
Senior journalist Saleh Zaafir told Geo News that PML-N’s consultative session had decided that Shehbaz Sharif will be the next Prime Minister of Pakistan.
He added that either Hamza Shehbaz Sharif or Rana Sanaullah will replace Shehbaz Sharif as the Punjab chief minister.
