Uber Driver May Face 8 Years In Prison For Raping


NEWPORT BEACH, California - A drivers of Uber taxi cab service has been costed with rape of a lady traveler after she wanted a drive home from a gathering in the upscale seaside US city of Newport Beach.
Angel Sanchez, 36, was caught a day following the March 30 episode, which occurred on a block near to the woman's home in Santa Ana, California.

Sanchez, who's scheduled for a short court appearance in the event next week, encounters a maximum phrase of eight years in jail if convicted, regarding to LA Times.

"Nobody is going through what this rider reported to authorities. We caused police on the research and will still work with specialists," an Uber spokesman said. Sanchez has been restricted from driving Uber.

The Uber drive was wanted by acquaintances of the girl, who was consuming alcohol at that time, prosecutors said.

Sanchez drove the girl near her home in Santa Ana and sexually assaulted her in his 2016 Toyota Sienna, prosecutors alleged.

The girl fled Sanchez's vehicle and called 911.
